ARC Approval Process – House of Hearts Literary Services

We’re so excited that you’re interested in joining our ARC and ALC campaigns! Each campaign is unique and depends on the author’s goals, the number of advance copies available, and the type of feedback they’re hoping to gather. Because of that, criteria and timelines may vary, but we always strive to communicate clearly every step of the way.

How We Review Applicants

Our goal is to connect passionate readers with stories they’ll love. We primarily prioritize applicants who regularly post thoughtful reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, but we also take into consideration reviews shared on BookBub, StoryGraph, or social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Threads.

To be considered:

• All linked accounts must be public and active.

• Please include direct clickable links to your review pages or profiles. Submissions with broken links or text-only handles will be declined.

• Please make sure you’re caught up on reviews for any ARCs previously received through House of Hearts before applying again.

Our main focus is reviews. We do not base selections on follower count, engagement, or posting frequency unless specified by the campaign.

Timeline & Communication

• ARCs and ALCs are typically distributed one week before release day, with a review deadline two weeks after release (approximately three weeks total to read and post). Please remember this can vary per campaign, however we always communicate timelines. 

• Backlist titles (non-new releases) may have different timelines, which will always be clearly communicated on the signup form.

• Sometimes, things outside of our control may affect delivery dates. If that happens, we’ll update applicants promptly.

• If you ever need to request an extension or let us know you can’t complete your review, please email us at info@houseofheartslit.com. We completely understand that life happens!

Notifications & Acceptance

All acceptance emails are sent through our House of Hearts newsletter.
If you’ve unsubscribed, you’ll need to manually opt back in to receive ARC or ALC notifications.

Accepting an ARC or ALC from House of Hearts you agree that all content you create (reviews, posts, graphics, etc.) must be fully original and not created using AI. Use of AI may affect your eligibility for future ARC + ALC opportunities.

To protect our team’s time and maintain a positive experience for everyone, we do not send individual decline emails.

FTC & Review Disclosure Reminder

All reviews must comply with FTC disclosure requirements. If you receive an ARC or ALC from us, please include a statement on Goodreads, Storygrpah, and socials such as:

“I received an advance copy from the author & House of Hearts Literary Services in exchange for an honest review.”

​

Honest feedback is always appreciated, whether positive or negative. We simply ask that you do not tag authors in negative reviews.
